Important Information regarding the Arabic School

Dear Parent/Guardian

We would like to welcome you and your child to the Arabic School at Edinburgh Central Mosque. We appreciate the level of commitment from yourself and your child to be at the school. May Allah accept and bless your efforts and make them a good lasting legacy for everyone.

The Arabic school will be covering 3 topics.
• Quran: Reciting orally initially then by reading and using tajweed rules.
• Arabic: Alphabet then moving to reading and writing and grammar for advanced classes.
• Islamic studies: Covering the basics a Muslim child would need to know at his/her age.

Quran: In addition to focusing on the last Juzu’ of the Quran (30th Para) we will be using the Qaida Noraniya (القاعدة النورانية) to teach children.

Arabic: We’ll be using the Gateway to Arabic series ( Book 1 and 2.

Islamic Studies: We’ll be using Islamic studies book 1 (

Students will be grouped in classes with similarly aged peers and tested based on ability.

Classes will be held every Sunday according to the schedule attached.

Classes will run from 10:30am until 14:30 (2:30pm)

Class Costs:
• The school fees will be £18 per month (For 9 months) paid by Direct Debit for the first child
• 2nd Child will be charged £9 per month (For 9 months) effectively half price.
• Additional children will be charged £1 per month for 9 months.
• Class costs will be collected on the 1st of the month for 9 months starting from the 1st October. Go-Cardless will be contacting you to set-up the Direct Debit details.

Books costs:
• Gateway to Arabic £4.50
• ICO Islamic Studies £22
Books are to be paid for on the first day of school.

If you have your Gateway to Arabic books from last year you can continue using those.
